Posi-Melt™ SPX

The Advanced Posi-MeltTM “SPX” is a high performance Mixing Screw designed for high output molding or extrusion applications. The “SPX” design is unique in that it melts a majority of the plastic prior to entering the Mixing section by subjecting the material to the superior melting and mixing action of the Posi-MeltTM technology. The “SPX” mixing section is a mini-barrier in itself separating the melt flow into multiple channels and forcing the melt to pass over a barrier gap before exiting. The gap controls the final melt quality and the length of the mixer controls the output and minimizes the pressure drop. Superior melt quality leads to a more uniform fill rate and better shot-to-shot consistency. The end result; a thoroughly melted and mixed melt pool with high throughput capability.
